I just started my cats on either Frontline or Advantage (it's not handy right now) & one of the cats has lost a patch of hair right where I applied it about 3 days ago. Has anyone ever had this happen with a flea preventative?

Sat, March 15, 2008 - 7:33 AMHaha... sorry, it's me again! I just found something on the internet that says 1% of cats do experience hairloss from it. Poor bald Lama! -

Mon, March 17, 2008 - 6:42 AMI remember my brother telling me that he applied Revolution to his cat and something funky happened to the area he applied it to... I think his cat is better now though. -

Re: Hair loss from flea preventative
Fri, April 25, 2008 - 1:38 PMLucky ends up with a white hairless spot EVERY time I apply flea stuff to him. Revolution is the only one I CAN apply without losing the hair, and frontline is the worst.
Lucky is sensitive by nature, so this is no surprise. -

Re: Hair loss from flea preventative
Fri, April 25, 2008 - 3:16 PMI keep meaning to return it to the vet, but I'm just so busy. It may be fine but it just freaks me out to think that it does that & what else it might be doing. Honestly, I really prefer not to use it at all since they're indoor cats & have never had fleas, but the vet guilted me into it. I figure the fewer chemicals they're exposed to the better. -

Fri, May 2, 2008 - 3:09 PMYou don't have to take the time to go to the vet to get them. We're in this wonderful internet world now. Petmeds in just a few minutes can be used to order the products and have them shipped right to your home.
I work 12 hour shifts and sometimes that's the only way i can get simple things like that.
