Diane has a great idea. If you don't have something like that in your area try a shelter. They have vets there that can help you get your kitty well. You can "work" off the bill by volunteering. These people are animal lovers too and don't want to see your furry friend suffer.

ask your vet about Care Credit. Also look around online and in the phone book for a pet program for people on disability. San Diego has one called P.A.W.S. - maybe your town has one too!

A lot of vets will work out payment plans.
However, you have a sick cat right now, and you have the responsibility to take care of this cat. Also, there might be some rescue group who could help you....

good luck.

last evening my kitty "Boo!" was lying on the couch and let out meows like I've never heard. Upon investigation, I found he doesn't want to move, he doesn't want to eat, he can't get comfortable, and he vomits (especially at times when I forced water down him). I got this kitty because, after someone dumped him, he came to my back door and begged to live with me. I have applied for SSI, but until I'm approved, I make $339 a month. Even if any of that was left over from the payment on the first of January, I have no money until Feb. 1st. I feared something like this would happen. That's why I never went out and got an animal...because I can't afford to take care of it right if sickness should happen. I am praying someone out there has some ideas. He's the sweetest kitty.
