Meowwww..... I mean hello, lol! I have a very friendly American Short Tail Tom cat. I've had him for a while and I've been trying to gently discipline him. I know that cats are natural climbers and they get into mischief. I have a bookcase that isn't anchored onto the wall, and I've successfully broken him out of climbing onto it, (That's all I need to come home to, an injured cat and broken dvds) I've also successfully broken him out of getting onto my computer desk, and kicking my keyboard onto the floor.
Of course, this is after coming home the next day from being out all night, from New Year's Eve. Why am I saying all of this, instead of asking a question, I just thought I'd share. I've seen the thread where it either asks or states about adapting cat behavior.
I am very territorial when it comes to seating, either on my couch, or any other place in my apartment, I'm also very protective of my friends. When I do yoga, I do cat pose real good, and it feels sooo good on my back, and when it comes to cleanliness, I'm very particular, and I take my time. There was also a thread about cat farts, roflol!
Who says a cat doesn't fart?! I was lying in bed one evening and I smelled this sudden gagging odor. Now, I know that it didn't come from me, so I said outloud to my cat, "You stink!!" When I return the smell, lol, I say to him, "Now you know how I feel" He then gives me a dirty look. He's been eating wet food and hard food combined, and he's pretty healthy.
I feed him Purina - Indoor Formula and he seems to be doing well. Very soon, I'm going to have to have him neutered.... oh boy.
Thanks for letting me share that bit of hair ball, lol!

Thu, January 3, 2008 - 11:39 AMHi Sebastian, welcome to you (and your kitty) - I used to think fondly and wistfully of the days when my cats too were disciplined. That lasted for years, and then it fell apart. Now they're old (except for one) and really don't get up to much of anything except lying around. So now I think fondly and wistfully of the days when they got up to mischief, lol! -

Thu, January 3, 2008 - 3:52 PMThanks for your response, Lily.
He's still mischievious, I wouldn't want him to lose all of that before he grows old. But no matter what, I still love him.
Thanks again,
Sebastian -

Re: Meowww.... I mean hello...
Wed, January 30, 2008 - 7:09 AMI have a siz month olf kitten so I know what you have been going through!! We had another kitty that was almost 12 years old we had to put to sleep. About 3 months after we adopted Zoom from the shelter. I had forgotten how little kitties get into things!! I collect Victorian dolls so needless to say that has been fun. I ahe put all kinds of things away and slowly Zoom is learning to not get inot things. She plays fetch like a puppy with balled up paper. Even though she is into everything right now I wouldn't trade her for the world!! As cats get older they don't play as much so smeeday I will have all my dolls out again. For now Zoom rules!!
