I confess....it's me.
I went out of town for 2 days (typical for my job) and I left a heater on in the bedroom so the cats would stay warm. My mom mentioned to me that they DO have fur coats for a reason, but I did it anyway.
I truly am a crazy cat lady...and I LIKE IT!

Re: Crazy Cat Lady...
Fri, January 25, 2008 - 3:56 AMIf you think you're crazy, where on the scale does that place me?
We gave up our only bedroom to help settle a feral cat and kittens
and slept in a conservatory-ended lounge all winter needing
2 quilts, and hats...our heating broke down, as did one of the
electric heaters, so guess who got the only constantly heated
room? Mind you, kittens do need warmth...
We might finally reclaim the bedroom this week, now our two
are permanent residents and comfortable with us, but
for cats rescued from a shed they've taken very well to their
own room with ensuite loo!! -

Re: Crazy Cat Lady...
Fri, January 25, 2008 - 6:54 AMI tuck my cats into comforters to help them keep warm. I keep the house at 68, and they hate me for it, so I do what I can to make up by hugging and snuggling with them. Does this make me a crazy cat guy? Yes, kitties have fur coats, but they should be pampered none the less. -

Re: Crazy Cat Lady...
Fri, January 25, 2008 - 10:44 AMMy electric blanket is on all day, plus, we heat with firewood, and when I leave, I fill up the stove and dial it down so it will last as long as possible. Our alpha cat sleeps under the stove.
I'm also planning on getting a "kitty warmer" this fall. One of my cats will be 18. I think he'd like it.

Re: Crazy Cat Lady...
Fri, January 25, 2008 - 11:00 AMI put on the bed a heating pad for the older cat when she was ill. She is fine now but still loves the heating pad. So now the heating pad is on 24/7 and the 2 cats sorta take turns on it. I sneak my freezing feet under the pad at night so we all benefit. -

Re: Crazy Cat Lady...
Mon, January 28, 2008 - 9:33 PMHee. I do it with the a/c in the summer, too. I know that an 85+ degree room will not kill heat-loving animals like cats but I still like to keep them comfy if I go away for a day in the summer. Spoiled kids. -

Tue, January 29, 2008 - 12:48 PMOur short haired cat sleeps between my husband and I under our blankets in our queen sized bed. I reach to hug my husband and I get a cat.. :) The long haired cat sleeps at our feet. We need a king sized bed. -

Re: Crazy Cat Lady...
Tue, January 29, 2008 - 2:53 PMWell, we finally tried sleeping in our bedroom. Didn't have the heart to evict the cats
(plus it's the only access to their litter in the bathroom). After being woken several
times by the kitten using our heads/stomachs as a springboard, and attacking
my partner's feet (well, he shouldn't be so tall that they poke out...) I eventually
got some sleep and woke to find I was sharing the bed with 2 cats.
Found my partner sleeping on the floor in the living room!!
He hasn't dared return to the bedroom yet, but the cats love the big cosy
new bed that's turned up...
One of them SNORES, but it's hard to beat having furry hot water bottles ;)

Re: Crazy Cat Lady...
Wed, January 30, 2008 - 9:07 AMHa..ha....when we get home at night, the boys get attention and love FIRST from the boyfriend before I do, but I don't mind ;-) If he doesn't immediately give the boys their dose of love, I give him shit about it, so we are a crazy cat couple and on top of that when friends come over they spoil the crap out of the boys too ;-) But, then again, if they weren't nice to our cats, they wouldn't be our friends in the first place.
