After having my cat on a hypo-allergenic food for the last 11 weeks and realizing she doesn't have food allergies, I did some research to find a really good dry food to switch her to. I decided to buy Welness Complete Health Salmon today. It seems to have really great ingredients. I haven't officially started switching her over yet.. I wanted to get everyone's opinion on it.
Does anyone have any opinions on this food??

Re: Changing my cat's food to Wellness Complete Health Salmon - Opinions??
Tue, March 25, 2008 - 3:09 PMWellness is a *fantastic* food. That's what I feed my cats if I run out of raw. -

Tue, March 25, 2008 - 10:19 PMMy cats adore the chicken can food and like the dry. Some foods my baby moves her paw like she is trying to bury it but not on the Wellness. Good quality food for my babies.

Re: Changing my cat's food to Wellness Complete Health Salmon - Opinions??
Wed, March 26, 2008 - 5:59 AMGreat to hear!!! This morning, I mixed a little bit of it with her old food and before I even put the food dish down for her she was meowing like crazy!!! She could (as well as me) probably smell it a mile away. It has a very strong fish smell but not in a bad way.
She hasn't been that enthusiastic about her food in a long time. I guess her hypo-allergenic food was REALLY bland... -

Wed, March 26, 2008 - 12:33 PMMy cats are not so fond of the fish but I might write them and ask for a sample to see of maybe they will like that kind of fish cat food. does anyone have the manufactor's name of that brand? -

Re: Changing my cat's food to Wellness Complete Health Salmon - Opinions??
Wed, March 26, 2008 - 1:18 PMIt's by Old Mother Hubbard. They have a lot of other flavors and grain free kibble too. My cat's really like the grain free called Core. -

Wed, March 26, 2008 - 2:22 PMDo you feed them anything else with Core dry food? Or is that a complete diet? -

Re: Changing my cat's food to Wellness Complete Health Salmon - Opinions??
Wed, March 26, 2008 - 8:00 PMIt's considered a complete diet, however, I feed my cats all sorts of random stuff, from raw, to canned to kibble. I find that because I vary their food so much I never had to deal with the upset tummies that a lot of cats experience when switching food. I use kibble mainly as a "treat" because my cats go crazy for it. At most they get it 3 times a week. -

Re: Changing my cat's food to Wellness Complete Health Salmon - Opinions??
Thu, March 27, 2008 - 6:09 AMGood to know!
This morning..I definitely noticed a stronger smelling litter box. On the hypo-allergenic food, her poop was very hard and small. This morning's was not as hard and longer...and had a detectable odor. :) Sorry for the explicit description... I figured it is good info in case anyone else decides to switch :o) -

Re: Changing my cat's food to Wellness Complete Health Salmon - Opinions??
Thu, March 27, 2008 - 7:28 AMYeah, mine are definitely stinkier on the wellness, but they eventually harden up once they get used to it. The worst was when I gave them Trader Joe's food. They'd clear out the house with those poos.
