I wanted to let everyone know that I am a strong advocate of rescuing cats from shelters. We recently got a kitten-3 months ago. She became very sick about 2 days after we got her with a virus that is common to shelters in this area. We nursed her back to health and now she is robust and a real joy to have. She is a beautiful gray color that gives her coat a blue sheen to it. I am so glad that we found her and she had a chance to live. I implore anyone that is able to adopt form shelters. Be responsible and have your animal spayed or neutered. There are a lot of wonderful kitties out there that just need a chance.

All three of my cats and my two dogs are all from shelters. I wouldn't get them any other way.

all cats I've ever had are either from shelters, or I rescued them from a situation where they were going to end up there and then wasn't able to place them with anyone. So I've really had some "problem" kitties: blind, chronic illness, loners who don't like other cats, cats who hate all humans but me, grumpy cats, etc. But over time the problems get smoothed out and it's all good.
